Our story
A hometown shop with a personal reason to exist.
Capital CBD is owned and run by Austin native Mike Sterling, who wanted hemp shopping to feel welcoming.
It started at home, with his mom.
After more than 15 years as a Realtor, investor, and home inspector, Mike felt there was something more he was meant to do. In 2018 he discovered American Shaman, and seeing what it meant to his mother confirmed the idea.
His goal was simple: build a place where people feel comfortable learning about hemp, ask whatever they like, and leave with something that suits them. That's still how the shop runs today.
