Hemp 101

No jargon. No dumb questions.

A short guide to what's on the shelf, what the label means, and how to make a confident choice.

Who's who on the label.

How to read a label

Three things worth checking.

  1. 1

    Find the dose per piece

A bag may say 500mg on the front, but that is usually the total. Look for the amount in each gummy or serving.

  2. 2

    Check the serving size

One serving can be more than one gummy or dropper, so check before you do the math.

  3. 3

    Read the lab report

A lab report, or COA, shows what an independent lab measured in that product.

Full spectrum, broad spectrum, isolate.

Common questions.

Will CBD make me feel high?

CBD is not known to be intoxicating. Some hemp products contain trace THC, so check the lab report and ask us if you're not sure.

How much should I start with?

There's no universal dose. Most people start with a small amount and go slowly. We can talk through the options, but your doctor is the right person for medical questions.

Could hemp products affect a drug test?

They can. Even products with trace THC may show up on a test, so if you get tested, talk to us and your employer or doctor first.

Can I take hemp products with my medication?

Please check with your doctor or pharmacist first. CBD can interact with some medications.

Do I need ID to buy?

Yes. In Texas, you must be at least 21 with a valid government-issued ID to buy consumable hemp products.

Why do products sometimes change?

Hemp rules have been changing quickly. We keep our shelves in line with the current rules, so ask us what's available today.

Still have a question?

Ask us anything. Rushing is not our style.
